This part will address the apparent Spanish history and other early mining
history of the Santaquin area.
There was a fire on Dry Mountain and in Santaquin Canyon in August 2001.
Much damage was done but most of the evidence about
this history remains intact.
This solid rock tunnel goes into the mountain about 100 feet.
Most of the mines are from the early 1900s. However,
there are others which no one seems to know anything about.
This hillside has the appearance of a caved in mine.
This carved symbol looks like a heart.
It is very close to the caved in spot on the hill.
We were told about some turtles symbols above the narrows in the canyon.
We have looked but not been successful in locating them yet.
We will keep looking and update you as we can.
